24th of February at 7.00pm. This will be held in Taylor High School, Carfin Street , New Stevenson ML1 4JP. This was the school Joe attended. Everyone is welcome and there is tea afterwards.

HISTORIC NEWS FOR SCOTLAND:
The Bishops’ Conference of Scotland has formally supported opening the Cause for Canonisation of Joseph Wilson, a young man from Carfin, Scotland whose diary reveals a beautiful spirituality, deep humility, and a sincere desire for holiness.
Postulator Dr Valerie Fleming has confirmed that work is now underway to present Joseph’s life to the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints in Rome.
Carfin Grotto was a place dear to Joe in his life and is now the spiritual home for all those who have been moved by Joseph’s witness and it is there regular devotional evenings take place.
Speaking today regarding the news, Joseph’s mum has expressed gratitude for the prayers and support surrounding her son, hoping that his life and writings will inspire people to trust God in the ordinary.

The petition for the Cause of Sainthood for Joe Wilson has now been submitted to Bishop Toal of Motherwell Diocese.

Dr Valerie Fleming ( the appointed postulator) is continuing her work on the petition for the ‘Cause For Sainthood’ for Joe. She is preparing the documents for Motherwell Diocese and they should be ready quite soon. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated.

We have been advised to now appeal for people who knew Joe, or are devoted to praying to Joe { or both } to contact us and leave us their details so that in due course they can give their testimony which will all help towards Joe’s possible cause for canonisation.

Update on the current status of Joe’s Cause October 2024
The Joe Wilson association has now been given the status of ‘Juridic Person’ by Bishop Toal of Motherwell diocese. A local postulator has started her preliminary work. This is the first step in a process which may eventually lead to Joe being considered a worthy candidate for a canonisation.
The association volunteers hold devotional prayer services in the glass chapel in Carfin Grotto. They also have a facebook page ’The Joe Wilson Association’ where you can find out what is going on. This section will be updated in due course for those who do not use social media.

Devotion to Joe WilsonAudrey Farley, Headteacher, St Aidan’s High School3rd November 2026Good evening, I am Audrey Farley and I have the immense honour and privilege of being the Headteacher here at St Aidan’s High School. I extend a very warm welcome to St Aidan’s High School this evening. We open the door and hearts of our wonderful community of faith, learning and service, as we gather in prayer, remembering the life and faith of Joe Wilson.We have just celebrated the Feast of All Saints, and now we find ourselves in November, the Month of the Holy Souls, when the Church invites us to remember and pray for all those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith.All Saints’ Day reminds us of the wonderful example of God’s witness that others have lived. Today our S1 pupils were thinking about Saints and what qualities do Saints have. Pope Benedict XVI spoke beautifully about what he called the “simple saints” — ordinary people who through the goodness and faith in their lives, reveal God’s love. Pope Francis spoke of the “saints of every day” and just at the weekend Pope Leo said that “Holiness is not a privilege reserved for a few, but a universal vocation that speaks to each of us where we live”. Words which I think Joe would have taken comfort and inspiration from.Pope Benedict reminds us that holiness is not necessarily about doing extraordinary things. It is about loving God and loving others in the ordinary circumstances of everyday life.And surely that brings us to Joe Wilson. Joe was inspired by Pope Benedict through his Caritas experience, and he was ecstatic about Pope Benedict coming to visit Bellahouston Park in September 2010.For those of you who don’t know Joe’s story. Joe was just 17 when he died suddenly in December 2011. He was a young man full of life, laughter, music and joy. He was a loving son, a loyal friend, a gifted student and someone who made others feel that they truly mattered.But what makes Joe’s story particularly moving is the depth of his faith. Through the diaries discovered after his death, we glimpse a young man who was really trying to understand what it meant to follow Jesus.

Update on the lady we prayed for good options from her hospital meeting.The news was better than I thought it may be but she needs treatment. Let's pray that the Doctors will provide this for her please.
